George H. Eastman, Westport merchant, died Thursday afternoon, February 22 at his home in that village. He was in his 66th year.
Mr. Eastman was a native of Westport and was born on February 15, 1886, a son of Henry and Mary (Young) Eastman. He attended Westport schools and entered business as a young man. For many years, he operated a hardware and plumbing establishment and was the area dealer for Buick automobiles.
Mr. Eastman is survived by his widow, the former Josephine Disotell, and one daughter, Miss Luella Eastman, Westport; also one sister, Mrs. Bert Adams of Lansing, Mich.
Mr. Eastman was long an active member of Plattsburg Lodge of Elks. He was a communicant of St. Philip's church, Westport, where funeral services were held on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Father Ruddy celebrated the requiem mass. Interment took place in the family plot in the church cemetery.
