Chauncey A. Oldfield, 68, Logan Rt. 2, died at 12:15 a.m. today at Hocking Valley Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past three years.
Born in Hocking County, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Mary Ellen Sater Oldfield. A farmer, he lived near Old Man's Cave. He was a member of the Rock Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Goss Oldfield; a daughter Mrs. Ralph (Faye) Miller of Logan; three grandchildren; a sister Mrs. McKinley (Pansy) Mauk of Logan, and an aunt Mrs. Estella Hankinson of Nelsonville Rt. 2.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Leonard Funeral Home, with Dr. R. B. Wilson offficiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
