Note: DOB is estimated, based on inscription notation that she was aged 52 years when she died. Obviously, a more precise DOB would be preferred, but it isn't likely that enough credible sources exist to pin the date down more closely than 1803.

Euphemia was, per her obituary, born in Scotland, but her parents names were not provided. Since she died in 1855 there are no death records to consult for their names.

The following is the fully transcribed text of the Fairfield Ledger obituary found for Euphemia Patterson Ramsay (transcribed by this contributor from microfilmed image of the original published document):

The Fairfield Ledger
Thursday Sept. 6, 1855
Pg. 3 Col. 2

DIED —In Fairfield, on the 22d ult., of Congestion of the Lungs, MRS. Euphemia Ramsay, relict of the late Alexander Ramsay, in the 51st year of her age.

The deceased was born and educated in Scotland, visited the United States when 18 years of age, and during her visit, which was protracted longer than was at first intended, was united in marriage to Mr. Ramsay about the year 1824. Soon after, she embraced her Savior, and salvation through Him, and immediately with her husband united with the Presbyterian Church of Washington, Pa. Up to the day when she was suddenly called to pass the gate of death into the ppromised rest, she adorned the Gospel by a life of intelligent, conscientious, consistent and prayerful piety. The trying event found her prepared to "die the death of the righteous." Though not favored with as triumphant evidences as she could have desired, still she found her precious Savior precious to her soul, and cheered by his smile, and protected by his power, she expressed her readiness cheerfully to resign all earthly endearments and venture into the dark valley and the glory beyond. In connexion (sic) with her husband, it might be truthfully said: "They were both righteous, walking humbly and conscientiously in all the ordinances and commandments of the Lord."
