Born in Fairview, Butler County, PA in 1809. Parents were William and Eleanor Jane Wilson. He had siblings, and moved with 2 brothers Robert and William to Ohio in the mid 1920's He was married to Mary Dunlap who we believe to be the sister of Margaret Dunlap from Butler County and Margaret was the wife of Robert whom he went to Ohio with. He lived briefly in Carroll County Ohio along with the other brother and then he and Robert moved on to Meigs County. The next move came in the 1850s to Wayne County IL. The 1860 census shows Thomas and wife Mary with children Robert, John, Eliz, Sarah, Nancy and Thomas Jr. IN the 1870 census Robert is not shown and it was learned that he perished in the battle of Mission Ridge and is buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in TN. Thomas Wilson farmed and died in 1880 as shown on his stone. The mortality report states that Thomas died from Genetic debility. which is difined as being underweight, poorly and run down.
