Vera Mabel Million Davis, 88, Palmyra, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Palmyra. Born April 23, 1913, the daughter of Arthur C. and Esther Piner Bronestine. She married Barkley D. Million August 23, 1931, at Monticello. He died December 30, 1950. She later married Earl L. Davis September 24, 1959, in New London. He died August 20, 1983. Mrs. Davis worked at Durands Drug Store, Palmyra. A 1930 graduate of Monticello High School. She was a fifty year member of the Easter Star, and a Past Matron of Monticello Chapter #383 where she was initiated. Later, she joined Constellation Chapter #382 in Palmyra. She was the first Mother Advisor in the Palmyra Rainbow Girls Chapter. She blayed basketball in high school and tennis after she married. Known as "Gram Davis" she went to sporting events of her family. She was a member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Lovegreen, Palmyra and Marilyn Powell, Wasilla, Alaska; one son, Gary Million, Palmyra; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Bernice Fishback, Mildred Schork, Louise Allen, Nora Elizabeth Shaffer and a brother, A. J. Bronestine. Visitation was held Wednesday, March 13, 2002, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmyra.
