William E. Carey, 67, Pleasant Hope, Mo., formerly of this area, died July 18, 1992, at a hospital in Bolivar, Mo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Murray Chapel, Bolivar; burial in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. Mr. Carey was born in North Kansas City and lived in Independence most of his life; he also lived in El Dorado Springs, Mo., before moving to Pleasant Hope 21/2 years ago. He worked at the Ford Claycomo assembly plant for 30 years before retiring. He was an Army and Marine veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Carey of the home; three sons, William J. Carey Sr., Levasy in Jackson County, and Robert Carey and Stephen Car ey of Independence; three daughters, Lynn Esser, Pleasant Hope, Teresa Parker, Lee's Summit, and Donna Bennett, Belton; two sisters, Hazel Counti, El Dorado Springs, and Ruby Muzingo, Greenfield, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren.
