Joyce F. Judy
Joyce Faye Judy, 49, of Petersburg, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at her home.
She was born Nov. 1, 1952, in Petersburg, a daughter of Mervin A. and Georgia Mae Thorne Stump of Dorcas.
She married Steven C. Judy, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Emily C. Judy of Petersburg; one son, Darin C. Judy of Petersburg; four sisters, Phyllis Alt of Dorcas, Janie Corley of Elkins, Denise Ours of Charlottesville, Va., and Nancy Rotruck of Petersburg; and daughter-in-law of Francis L. and Joan Judy of Ruskin, Fla.
She was preceded in death by one niece, Ginger Alt; and one great-nephew, Zack Alston Paul Alt.
She was salutatorian of Petersburg High School class of 1970 and a 1974 graduate of West Virginia University School of Medical Technology. She was employed at Grant Memorial Hospital Laboratory for 27 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Petersburg where she served as treasurer and organist. She was also active in the Women's Bible Circle.
Friends will be received at Schaeffer Funeral Home Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at Petersburg First Baptist Church Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry M. Cantu and Pastor Fred A. Soltow Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Lahmansville Cemetery in Lahmansville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joyce F. Judy Scholarship Fund, 24 North Main St., Petersburg, W.Va. 26847.
