Services for Effie Irene Grayson, 81, of Pollok will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Calvary Baptist Church in Wells with Rev. Frank Brown and Rev. Horace Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Wells.
Mrs. Grayson was born October 5, 1922 in Wells, TX to the late Dock W. and Gordie (Goodwin) Chandler and died Thursday, November 13, 2003, in a Lufkin hospital. A resident of Houston for most of her life, Mrs. Grayson had resided in Pollok and Wells since 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wells.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Rosalie Grayson of Wells and Ronald and Evelyn Grayson of Conroe; daughter Wanda Grayson of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Virgil Heinrich of Etoile; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Marlene King of Wells; and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Guadalupe Chandler of Wells.
Mrs. Grayson was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Grayson, her parents and a grandson, Shannon Burch.
Pallbearers for her service will be Reece Grayson, Heath Burch, Michael Grayson, Brent King, Doyle King, and Danny King.
Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Martin and Robert Brown.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home in Lufkin.
