Dorothy Marie Calhoun, 72, of Burnet died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005. Funeral services were held Oct. 14 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Burnet with Liz Spencer officiating. Burial was at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park under the direction of Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home of Burnet.
Palbearers were Sam Simons, Rex Simons, Tony Simons, Bryce Knight, Alton Knight, Jimmy Hansche, Ben Cain, Tomas Cain, Travis Thrane, Jacky Calhoun, John L. Calhoun and C.K. Aldridge.
She was born Nov. 12, 1932, the daughter of John and Nora Pruett. She collected owl and frog figurines. She loved birds and enjoyed raising them. She was a former member of the ladies auxiliary at the Burnet VFD.
Survivors include her husband, John H. Calhoun of Burnet; son, Henry Calhoun of Burnet; daughter, Deborah Calhoun of Granite Shoals; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Simons and Mary Holder, both of Liberty Hill; and two brothers, Levi Pruett of Burnet and John Pruett of Liberty Hill.
