Thomas I. Hicks
Thomas Ison Hicks, 95, a resident of Dailey, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 9, 1906, at Pickens, a son of the late Mortimer and Mary Folks Hicks.
On Sept. 24, 1924, in Elkins, he was married to the former Helen Sturrock, who preceded him in death on March 18, 1968. He was also formerly married to Mary McNeal, who survives at Helvetia.
He is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Hicks and wife, Kathryn, of Dailey, and James Paul Hicks of Livonia, Mich.; two grandchildren, Cindy Kay Nelson and Thomas Earl Hicks; and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were five brothers and six sisters.
Mr. Hicks owned a used car sales and was an auto body repairman. He attended the Valley Bend United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donald L. Fitzwater and the Rev. Frank Long officiating. Interment will follow in Pickens Cemetery.
