John was the son of Isaac and Mary 'Polly' Martin Vanbebber and husband to Manerva Jane Kincaid Vanbebber, who he married April 12, 1843 in Claiborne Co, TN. He was killed
by his wife's first cousin, John Kincaid III in an unfortunate family quarrel. The orphan children were taken in by their grandfather, Isaac Van Bebber.
