He is buried next to Franklin and Jessie Wilber who are also buried next to Earl and Earnest Coleman. I do not know for certain if this is the Coleman brothers' father, but see information below.

One source on Ancestry.com has a James Arthur Coleman b. 1861, but no death date. His parents are listed as Spencer Charles Coleman (1819-1895) and Belinda L. Carnes (1834-1897). I received an edit that names him as the J. A. Coleman buried here.

Submitted by Darlene Allen on Ancestry.com:

James A Coleman was in Greene County, Iowa and I show married Jessie Mertz on October 11, 1888 in Greene County. I have no idea on their children.

James A. was born in Iowa, lived briefly in Kansas and then came back to Iowa. His father is, I believe, Spencer Coleman.

Spencer's father was James, and James' father was Nathaniel who fought in the Revolutionary War. Spencer had 3 brothers, and he may have been one of them who volunteered from Iowa and fought in the Civil War. One brother died, and the other two came home. Two of Spencer's brothers moved out to Oregon early on and are considered Pioneers of that area of Oregon, 1840's, I believe, maybe 50's. They were John and Matthew Coleman. John fought in skirmishes with Indians there in Oregon. Matthew, before going to Oregon, fought in the Mexican War where he was wounded and discharged because of it.

James A., who I have as James Arthur Coleman is not in my direct line and one I have found no other info on. I do try to get information on brothers and sisters of my direct line ancestors, but I haven't found anything on him. Any information on him and his family would be appreciated.
