Louise W. Fields, 79, native of Edinburgh, died Tuesday at noon at Johnson County Memorial Hospital where she had been taken after becoming ill at her home. She had been in ill health for over a year.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Hugh Owen and Eskew Funeral Home. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mrs. Fields was born Dec. 28, 1900, in Edinburgh the daughter of Jacob and Mary Keck Wurtz, was a graduate of Edinburgh High School and was married to Herbert Fields Dec. 5, 1927. He preceded in death in 1956.
She was a charter member of the Edinburgh Eastern Star and a member of the Edinburgh Christian Church. For many years she worked for her father at the Wurtz Bakery and at the Edinburgh A&P Grocery.
A nephew, Kenneth Coffman, of Edinburgh survives. Preceding in death were two brothers, Henry and Oscar Wurtz, a sister, Freda Coffman, and a half-sister, Minnie Allison.
