Full name Dorothea Louise Moldenhauer, she immigrated at age 21 with her parents and siblings to Wisconsin from Hamburg in September, 1843. She married fellow ship passenger Carl Setzkorn one year later. "The first wedding was Carl F.W. Setzkorn and Dorothea L. Moldenhauer in September 1844, performed by Rev. Kindermann," according to Immanuel Lutheran Church archives.
