Fannie Beatrice Brown Albright, one of ten children of John Mason Brown and Rilla Harness Brown, was born at the family home in Quail.

She attended Quail and Mt. Vernon High School. At home she learned how to garden, can, preserve and to make butter and lard. Her mother taught her how to make soap. She learned to crochet, tat, embroider, hook rugs and make quilts. From her Scottish ancestors, she inherited the knack for making something out of nothing. Fannie never worked away from home, but she worked very hard at home. Her family was her career.

Most of their married life, Albert and Fannie lived in the house they built on Kentucky Highway 70. The original log exterior has been covered, but the house still nestles among the flowers and trees they so carefully planted. Here they reared their children.

Fannie was a devoted member of the Providence Church of Christ. After the death of Albert, she continued to live in the family home, make rag rugs, quilts, and to the delight of her family, cook good country food.
