Funeral services for Martin D Bell, 59, of the Sardis Community near Rusk are set from 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sardis Baptist Church with burial under the direction of the Wallace funeral Home following in the Sardis Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Kendrick and the Rev. Wayne Morrow will officiate.
Mr. Bell died Friday in a Garland nursing home folliwing an extended illness
Prior to his illness, Mr. Bell had been employed as a parts inspector for a steel company in Houston. He was born at Rusk and was a Baptist.
Survivors are one son Martin T Bell, Garland; four brothers, Leonard Bell, Porter, Silas Bell Port Neches, and Edgar and Haymon Bell of Conroe; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Welch,Conroe, and Mrs. Rethal Carry, Rusk; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Vernon Berry, Chat Berry, John H Berry, Horace Berry, Lindy Middleton and J T Ford.
