Mrs. Dickinson was born in 1921 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to John Emmet and Alma Power. She married John W. Dickinson Jr. on June 30, 1945, in Chicago. She devoted her life to raising her family. She was an avid reader and volunteered her time with children promoting literacy. She enjoyed many friendships while active in bridge, garden and book clubs.
Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Virginia (Daniel) Johnson of Bettendorf, Iowa; sons, John (Eileen Vorbach) Dickinson of Chicago and James (Janet) Dickinson of Madison, Wisconsin; and grandchildren, Laura and Emily Johnson, and Kendra, Madeleine, Emma and Elise Dickinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Argote.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care of the staff at Ridgecrest.
