He was listed in the 1880 Jay County, IN census with his family in Madison Township.
Was a member of Dunkard Church.
His main pleasure seemed to be to perform the hardest kind of physical labor. His only diversion from his long hard hours of labor was to go to town with his neighbor Reems and imbibe sufficiently of liquor that he and Reems could drive home in the farm wagon yelling YIP YIP. Neighbors used to laugh when they would hear the wagon and the YIP YIP and say hear comes Burnham and Reems.
Burnham never lived in a house much better than a rail pen.
There is much mystery surrounding the origin of the name of Burnham as no where else in Denney Genealogy does the name appear.
married to Julia Ann Painter 9/22/1867 in Darke Co., Ohio
Guy Denney leaves some hint that Burnham and Julia's children were left as orphans but does not give any detail as to why.
