Vivian E. Bell, 89, of Greensburg, formerly of Bradford, Pa., and Jamestown, N.Y., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Easy Living Estates, New Stanton.
She was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Frewsburg, N.Y., the daughter of the late Rev. S. Paul and Alice Hanson Weaver.
She was Methodist by faith. She graduated from Jamestown High School and the Warren Conservatory of Music. She worked as a secretary at Army Headquarters in Aberdeen, Md., and had been the organist/pianist at the Camp Street United Methodist Church in Jamestown, N.Y.
Vivian was a hostess for Welcome Wagon International. She was a volunteer at WCA Hospital, Jamestown General Hospital, and the Jamestown Board of Elections. She was also a life member and past officer of the Mt. Sinai-Mecca Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 132.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Russell J. Bell; a daughter, Marcia Bell Kosthorst; and a brother, Jerry Weaver.
She is survived by a son, Gregory R. Bell and wife, Shirley of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Michelle Kosthorst of St. Petersburg, Fla., Natalie Bell Lee and husband, Stephen of Maitland, Fla., and Aaron Bell and wife, Courtney of Amherst, N.Y.; great-grandchildren: Christina, Courtney, Corey (Kosthorst) Andrews and Paige and Parker Lee; two brothers: Richard Weaver and wife, Irene of Payson, Ariz., and Paul Weaver and wife Carole of Houston, Texas; two step-grandchildren: Bethany Bankovich of Harleysville, Pa., and Brittany Bankovich of Greensburg, Pa.; along with two nieces and two nephews: and special friend, Karen Holsopple of Youngwood, Pa.
