"CLYDE SOUTER NOYCE SUCCUMBS OF INFLUENZA AFTER SHORT ILLNESS Was Connected With Pilgrim Congregational Church

"The Rev. Clyde S. Noyce, director of religious education at the Pilgrim Congregational church, died Wednesday afternoon at St. Luke's hospital following a two weeks' illness. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at the church with the Rev. Noble S. Elderskin, pastor, officiating.

"Reverend Mr. Noyce was taken ill Oct. 30, but remained at his duties until the following Sunday when a physician ordered him to the hospital. His case was first diagnosed as pneumonia but late developed into influenza.

"Born Nov. 9,1897 in Brunswick, (Nebr), Reverend Mr. Noyce spent his early days in that city, attending public grade and high schools. Later the family moved to Crete, Neb., where he attended Doane college, receiving his A.B. degree in 1921.

"On June 23, 1922, Reverend Mr. Noyce married Augusta Wehe at Reamsville, Kans., and later moved to Chicago, where he attended the Chicago Theological seminary receiving his B.D. degree in 1924. During his matriculation at the seminary, he was pastor of Congregational church at Crystal Lake, Ill.

"Following his graduation he was appointed pastor of the Congregational church at Oglesby, Ill., where he remained until September, 1926, when he came to Duluth to accept the position of director of religious education at the Pilgrim Congregational church.

"Besides his wife, Reverend Mr. Noyce is survived by his parents at Crete, Neb., and five brothers and one sister. Interment will take place Monday morning at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Hill cemetery." ....Duluth News Tribune..December 13, 1928
