Frances Helen Ackman, 12 years old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ackman of Neelys Landing, died from appendicitis at 5:45 a.m. today at the Southeast Missouri Hospital. The girl had been ill since Monday night and was brought to the hospital Thursday, where she underwent an operation.
She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and Sunday school near her home. She was born July 10, 1916, at Neelys Landing. Besides her parents she is survived by seven brothers: August, Barrett, Robert, Wilson, James, Clifford and Herbert.
The body was removed from the Brinkopf Funeral Home today to the family residence, where it will remain until time for funeral services, which will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the New Bethel Church. Rev. A. J. Langston will conduct the services. Interment will be in New Bethel cemetery.
