Mrs. Millie Pool, 101, of Hanson, KY, died at 12:45 A.M., Monday, November 24, 2008 at Harborside Nursing Home in Madisonville, KY.

She was born February 20, 1907, in Hanson to the late Alfred Carnal and Melvina Beckham Carnal. Mrs. Pool was also preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Pool on November 9, 1977; one granddaughter, Carolyn Harshbarger; five sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Pool was the oldest member and most time spent in church at Olive Branch Baptist Church where she loved to work with the youth. She was a 50 year member of OES-C.S. Hoffman Chapter #211 in Nebo, KY and a Kentucky Colonel.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marguerette James of Hanson; one granddaughter, Marilyn Browder of Madisonville; one grandson, Jacob James of Boonville, IN; one great granddaughter, Jessica Taylor of Madisonville and one great great grandson, Jonathon Edward Taylor of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Olive Branch Baptist Church in Hanson with Bro. Bobby Sellers, Rev. Gary Taylor and Rev. Scott Milby officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and after 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the church.

Pallbearers will be Roger Tippett, Jerry Pool, Gerald Ashby, David Bruce, Woodrow Coffman and Carroll Coffman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Harris, Danny Coffman, Doris Melton, Leroy Veazey, Ed Tippett and James Tippett.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Olive Branch Cemetery Fund, 400 Olive Branch Church Road, Hanson KY 42413. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
