Izora "Pete" Petree, 100, formerly of Onaga and Holton, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia.

She was born October 22, 1910 in the North Cedar Community between Valley Falls and Denison, the daughter of Ira and Maggie Strawn Cline. She attended Denison schools.

Izora had operated restaurants and been a cook at various restaurants in Holton and Onaga.

She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Onaga, and a life member of the Holton Saddle Club.

She married W. A. "Bill" Petree on November 30, 1933 at Holton. He died October 2, 1994.

Izora was also preceded in death by a son, Billy Petree, a son-in-law, Bob Goble, three brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Jane Lacey and husband Dareld, Holton, Shirley Goble, Onaga, and Sue Reynolds and husband Dennis, Hill City; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, twenty-one great-great grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4th at the First Congregational UCC. Burial will follow in the Onaga Cemetery.
