GEORGE WINFORD 'WIMP' ABERNATHY, 67, of Millington, retired manager for Ready Ice Co., died Thursday at Methodist Hospital after a stroke. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel has charge. He was past president of Millington Lions Club. Mr. Abernathy, the husband of Brownie O. Abernathy, also leaves four sons, John Abernathy of Oakland, Miss., Mark Abernathy of Bartlett, George Abernathy of Jackson, Tenn., and Dan Abernathy of Lakeland; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Crain of Millington; two sisters, Mary Ann Smith of Holly Grove, Tenn., and Linda Drylie of Bartlett, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
