Ernest E. Dietzman, 46, a Greyhound Bus driver and former auto racer, died yesterday in Good Samaritan Hospital Mr. Dietzman, of 1119 N. 46th St., was born in Flagstaff.
He moved to Phoenix 21 years ago and had worked for Morris- Knudson Construction Co. before joining the Greyhound company in 1943.
His racing career included midget and stock cars on Texas, and Arizona tracks from 1947 to 1954.
Mr. Dietzman was a member of the Bus Drivers Union 1223 and Elks Lodge 335.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel of the Garden of Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E. Thomas.
The Rev. Crawford Vanderpool will officiate.
Friends may call at the Mortuary after 7 p.m. today.
Burial will be in East Resthaven Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Ernest E. of Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Nichols of Vallejo, Calif.; a brother, Thomas of Tucson; and his mother, Mrs. Eva Dietzman of Phoenix.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in Phoenix.
