PAULINE FANCHER SOOTER, a resident of Shell Knob, MO, was born April 1, 1920 in Carroll County, AR, a daughter of George & Alice (Smith) Fancher. She departed this life Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Table Rock Health Care in Kimberling City, MO, at the age of 91 years.

Pauline graduated from the School of the Ozarks. She went to S.M.S., now known as Missouri State University. She was a retired school teacher, she taught for twelve years in rural Missouri Schools and fourteen years in the Arkansas School systems. Pauline was a member of the Carr Lane Baptist Church.

On May 23, 1950 she was united in marriage with Howard Sooter who survives her of the home. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Lee Fancher of Rogers, AR; nieces, Georgie Mathias of Springfield, MO; Betty Edwards of Nixa, MO; Kathy & husband Jerry Pettigrew of Rogers, AR; Kristy Fancher of Rogers, AR; nephews, Dan & wife RaDonna Fancher of Cassville, MO; Tom Fancher of California; Chad Fancher of Rogers, AR; Jimmy Fancher of Shell Knob, MO; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, three brothers, Richard, William and Jim Frank Fancher, two sisters, Kathleen Meadows and Haleen Fancher, one nephew, Jerry Fancher, three great nephews, George and Paul Edwards, and Toby Fancher, three great nieces, Lisa and Sammie Edwards, and Linda Mathias.


Visitation will be held from 8:30 A.M. until service time Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Shirley McCullough officiating. Interment will follow at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
