Mrs. Stubblefield was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who died December 18 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
She was born June 14, 1933 in Coryell County, Texas and was raised in Killeen. Maebelle graduated from Killeen High School in 1950. She then attended Nixon-Clay Business College in Austin.
She married Robert L. Stubblefield, Sr. on October 11, 1952 in Killeen. They
were happily married until the death of her husband on July 28, 1996.
Maebelle started her career as a Civil Service worker on Fort Hood. After taking time off from working to stay at home with her young children, she went to work as a secretary at the First Baptist Church. After working for the church for a number of years, she then completed her civil service career at Fort Hood, where she retired.
Maebelle was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Killeen, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She also served on numerous committees at the church, and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union.
She also was a member of the Killeen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member ofthe Eastern Star Chapter 490 of Killeen, a member of the Wednesday Review Club, a member of the Bluebonnet 56er's Club, and past member of the Globe ABWA Chapter.
Survivors include her son, Bobby Stubblefield of Austin, her daughter Judy Tyler and husband Terry of Killeen. Grandsons Scott Tyler and wife Keri of Alexander, Arkansas, Brian Tyler and wife Carey of Killeen, Brad Tyler of Dallas, and Tyler Stubblefield of Giddings. Great-grandchildren are Catelyn and Briley Tyler of Killeen, and Jayden and Keegan Tyler of Alexander, Arkansas. She is also survived by her brother Jack L. Henderson and wife Norma of Columbus, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Stubblefield, Sr., her parents Earl H. and Lonnie Gautier Henderson, a grandson Jared Stubblefield, and a sister Nancy Brooks.
