F. J. Biediger, after an illness of some two weeks, died at his home at 1:30 P.M., Sunday March 10, 1918, and his funeral occurred at 10:00 o'clock Monday morning, after a Requiem Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Heckman conducting the services.
Decendent was born in Folkviller, Alsace-Loraine, May 30, 1843; he came to this country with his parents when 2 years old and landed in Castroville. On February 4, 1869 he was happily married to Miss Mary Anna Bohl; of this union eight children were born, 6 sons and 2 daughters, seven of whom survive him, namely: Frank of San Antonio, William of Castroville, Otto of San Antonio, Adolph of Dunlay, Fred of La Coste, Mrs. J. O. Holzhaus of San Antonio, and Mrs. J. J. Droitcourt of Hondo. His son Ambrose, died February 9, 1908.
Besides these he is survived by thirty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also two brothers, August Biediger of Moore and Steve Biediger of Elmendorf. He was a member of St. Louis Society and also of the Medina County Aid Society. He served for 3 years in the Federal Army during the Civil War.
He reached the age of 74 years, 9 months and 10 days of age at the time of his
death.
