She was united in Christ at an early age at Corinth Baptist Church in Giddings. Jessie Mae served the Lord faithfully until her demise.
Upon graduation from High School she attended Prairie View A&M and majored in mathematics. Jessie Mae met and married Allen Leon Harrell, Jr. To this union were born her son, Donnie, and daughter, Shirley. She later met and married Rudie Clark and to this union was born a daughter, Deborah. She will be remembered for her bright and glowing smile, her meek and loving personality that radiated warmth to all who knew her. Jessie Mae loved to play bingo and was an avid domino player. Most of all, she loved and enjoyed being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents, a sister, Alean S. Ferguson, brother, Theodore Guy Chapple and a stepson, Bobby L. Harrell, Sr.
Jessie Mae leaves to cherish her memory one son, Donald Ray Harrell, Sr. (Margie); two daughters, Shirley Diana Temesgen and Deborah Renee Clark; six grandchildren, Michelle Denise Parson (Neil), Genet Kedist Harrell, Donald Ray Harrell, Jr., Netsanet Chenay Hopkins (Quincy), NaKayla CsiNease Temesgen and Emanuel Deandre Clark; seven great grandchildren, Jeremy Carter, RaeChaun Edwards, Cornelius Parson, JaQuan Parson, Mya Parson, William (B.J.) Crooks and Brihan Hopkins; two sisters-in-law, Caroline McKinney and Margaret Davis; one brother-in-law, Jason Clark, Sr.; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends."
