Ocala - Alfred L. Mathena, 69, 2594 N.E. 32 Place, Ocala, died Sunday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Gainesville.
A native of Bluefield, W.Va., he was a resident of Ocala since 1955, was retired, a WWII U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Highlands Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Mathena, Ocala; a daughter, Kerren Bickerton, Lakeland; a son, Robert Lester Mathena, Jacksonville; two sisters: Bea Heldreth, Tazewell, Va., Lillian Patton, North Tazewell, Va.; a brother; J.B. Mathena, Ocala; four grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Mathena, age 69, 2594 N.E. 32nd Place, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 1987, at Hiers Funeral Home, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd. with the Rev. Jeffrey S. Rountree officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m.
