Virgil Gamble
Virgil Gamble, age 77 of Rt. 3, Whitney, Texas died Wednesday morning in the Whitney Hospital. Services will be held today, April 29 at 10 a.m. at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney. Rev. Johnny Pelham will be officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mr. Gamble was born April 16, 1911, the son of William and Addie Blockard Gamble. He married Kathleen May March 10, 1971. He moved to the Whitney area in 1974. He was a retired locomotive engineer for the Katy Railroad. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Gamble of Whitney, three children, Janice Sexton of Needville, Ross Gagliano of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Virgil Lee Gamble; one brother, Austin Gamble of Clarksville; one sister, Grace Kumke of Claud; a number of grandchildren and serveral great grandchildren.
