He was the son of Joab Baxter and Martha Ellen Bass Gore. His parents and his sister, Bessie E. Gore, are buried in Holly Springs Cemetery. Olin was a veteran of World War I. He was a retired farmer who resided in Montalba, TX for 74 years. He was a resident of Cartmell Home in Palestine at the time of his death in a Tyler hospital. He was survived by one sister, Lydia Ann Gore McKenzie. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press in January 1977.
