Civil War service: PVT US ARMY CONFEDERATE STATES

After the war, while living in Dawson, GA, he was a Dry Goods merchant, alderman/charter member/Sec-Tres. of the Dawson Methodist Church.

William died on 26 Aug 1905 at his home in Calhoun, GA. His grave & headstone are actually located here in Chandler Cemetery Calhoun, GA beside his sisters' grave and his parents memorial stones.

The Veterans administration list his grave site location in City Cemetery of Dawson (aka:Cedar Hill) Dawson, Terrell County, GA. A VA stone was placed there but that site is only a memorial. One will find many memorial benches throughout Gordon County, 2 of which bear his name.
