Betty B. Amsberry, 91, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan.

She was born January 16, 1923, in Saint Francis, KS, to Guy A. & Chesey Ezelle Billington. Betty graduated from Fort Morgan High School. On December 20, 1945, she married Earnest E. Amsberry in Saint Francis, KS. The Amsberry family moved to the Snyder community in 1964. Earnest & Betty owned and operated the Amsberry Hay & Milling Company. Betty served as the business manager for the company. Her work was her passion. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her 3 children, Linda Shelton of Thornton, CO, Susanne Brown of Thermopolis, WY, and Alden Amsberry of Littleton, CO; 1 brother, Gene Wesley Billington of Eugene, OR; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 grandchildren, 1 sister, 2 brothers, and her parents.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 9, at 10:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush. Concluding service and interment will be in the Benkelman, Nebraska, Cemetery on Monday, August 11, at 11:00 AM. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
