Mario Alberici, 97, passed away May 25, 2011. He was the son of Celestino and Victtoria Alberici, born July 9, 1913, in McCloud, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, John David Pritchard; great-grandson, Justin James Pritchard; one brother and three sisters. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 73 years, Helen of the family home; children, Veronica Pritchard, Eileen (Larry) Whittemore and Mario (Elizabeth Ann) Alberici; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, soon to be 10; sister, Olga Micheli; sisters-in-law, Christine Bailey and Katherine Bailey; also survived by numerous other relatives. Mario served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star. He worked many years before the military and after in the coal mines throughout Colorado. He was a member of the VFW Minnequa Post No. 3641. He retired in 1975 from the CF&I Steel Mill from the 25-inch Department.
