Memorial services for Marion L. Gilman, 70, were held Tuesday in Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. He died March 22, 1983. in Quincy Valley Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born July 21, 1912 at Sand Creek, Wis. Mr. Gilman attended schools there and around 1936 he moved to the Yakima Valley and was a sheep herder for about 20 years. Mr. Gilman married Bernice Vanderpool in Yakima in 1955. They moved to Quincy and he worked for the Witco Chemical Corp. for 21 years before retiring in 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice, at the home; one son, Bill Gilman, Seattle; one daughter, Wilma Gilman, Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, Everett Gilman, Altoona, Wis; and one sister, Wilma Nicholson, Seattle.
