Son of John Hensley and Mary Elizabeth (Henning) Stier. On Sept. 6, 1875, he married Polly Emery. Seven children were born to them: Amos & Mamie, (twins -- Mamie died in infancy), Vesta Ileon, Albert Everett, Lee, Minnie M and Lilly Blanche.
