A Kermit man died early Sunday morning in Lubbock from burns sustained over 95 percent of his body.
Abelardo Lujan,40,was taken to Lubbock after the fire which was reported about 4:50 p.m. Thursday at 208 Bryan.
He died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in Lubbock General Hospital.
Lujan was born July 17,1944 in Mexico and was a sandblaster for Ezell Tank Co. He was a Catholic
and had lived in Kermit six years,moving here from Mexico.
Survivors include Abelardo Lujan Jr.,of the home; a daughter,Annabella Lujan of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Placido Lujan of Mexico; two brothers, Gregorio Lujan and Placido Lujan, both of Kermit;and a sister,Eloisa Uranga of Mexico.
Rosary for Lujan was held at 7p.m. Sunday in St.Jospeh's Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 3 p.m. today,July 15,in St.Jospeh's with Father Miguel Luna officiating.
