Adina (Foreman) Mansfield, 67, of Durham, formerly of New Britain and East Hampton, the widow of Myron "Mike" Hawley Mansfield, died early Monday morning, (September 18, 2000) at a convalescent home in Meriden. Born in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of the late Rev. Heyward and the late Carolyn E. (Nesmith) Foreman, she was a member of South Congregational First Baptist Church, New Britain, where she was Minister of Youth Music, a member of Middletown Baptist Church, where she was Minister of Music, co-founder of Young People's Center for Creative Arts in East Hampton, and taught private music lessons. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher I. Mansfield and Jennifer Friday of Durham, and Kyle Scott and Janet Mansfield of East Hartford; two daughters and a son-in-law, Renee C. Mansfield and Samuel Hoffman of Uxbridge, MA, and Rachel A. Mansfield of Middletown; a brother, Heyward Foreman Jr., of Middlefield; five grandchildren, Courtney, Olivia, Jake, Meryl, and Casey; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 10 a.m., at South Congregational First Baptist Church, 90 Main Street, New Britain. Burial will follow in Middlefield Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Kensington, Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in her memory, to the Mansfield Memorial Scholarship, c/o Guidance Office, East Hampton High School, North Maple Street, East Hampton, CT 06424.
