Death of Eli Herrill.
In the presence of his wife and of his children, Eli Herrill passed away at his home on Coloma Street, in this city, on last Wednesday night. A long protracted illness gave warning of his approaching end and to his bed-side were summoned his children from different parts of the State, as follows; Mrs. W. M. Holloway, Mrs. C. C. Johnstone, Mrs. S. Hammon, Miss Phoebe Herrill, M. Herrill, H. C. Herrill, J. Herrill and G. W. Herrill. The funeral took place from the family residence on Friday afternoon under the auspices of El Doroado Lodge, No. 26 F. & A. M., of which the deceased had long been a member. Rev. C. C. Peirce was the minister officiating. The deceased was one of our oldest and most respected citizens, having come to this county at an early day from Tennessee where he was born seventy years ago.
