A. H. Turney died Sunday at Wilson from injuries received Saturday night at about seven o'clock. Mr. Turney was filling the tank to his car by the light of a lantern when the gasoline became ignited and the tank exploded, burning his clothing entirely off his body. He died at 5:30 Sunday afternoon.
The funeral services were conducted Monday by Rev. J. E. Milton and Rev. J. P. Gilliam assisted by Rev. Walter Martin of Purvis. Interment was in the Carlton cemetery.
Mr. Turney was twenty-six years old and had lived near Wilson for several years. He leaves a widow and two children and five brothers and three sisters to mourn his death.
