CHUBBUCK -- Arvella Ellis Bohney, 91, of Chubbuck, died October 31, 2006, at Ridgewind Assisted Living Community.
She was born May 30, 1915, in Moreland, Idaho, to George Willard Ellis and Emily Purser Ellis. She lived in Rigby, Swan Valley, Idaho Falls and Osgood before moving to Hamer, where she attended Hamer High School.
On December 3, 1934, she married John Jay Bohney in Rexburg. They lived in Hamer, Buhl and Pocatello. She was a mother and homemaker and worked at Lamb-Weston for nearly 20 years before retirement.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed reading and cooking. Arvella was an avid gardener, canning her own fruits, vegetables and fish, and spent every weekend camping and fishing with her family.
Survivors include her children, John (Barbara) Bohney Jr., Sharon A. Perkins and Clinton G. (Melynda) Bohney, all of Pocatello, Carol R. (Jack) Osborne of Idaho Falls, Vonda M. O'Shea of Blackfoot and Mildred J. Deck of Clarkston, Washington; brothers, Kail (Pat) Ellis of Idaho Falls and Boyd (Jan) Ellis of Brigham City, Utah; 31 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, George R. Bohney and Gene L. Bohney; six brothers, Elmer, Melvin, Kenneth, Francis, Johnney and Clinton; and a great-grandson, Brady Winger.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls with Bishop Brett Mower of the Pocatello LDS 52nd Ward officiating. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
