Jersey City, N.J. - Sgt. James Edward McCormick, 35, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital here last Wednesday after a short illness. The Bulloch County native was a member of the Bethel AME Church in Statesboro. He was a graduate of William James High School, and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Julia Anne McCormick of New York City; a daughter, Miss Chandelle McCormick of New York; his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Isaac McCormick of Statesboro; six sisters, Mrs. Lois Jackson of Statesboro, Miss Patty McCormick of Milledgeville, Miss Linda McCormick of Newark, N.J., Mrs. Patricia Anderson, Mrs. Frances Alexander and Miss Mildred McCormick, all of Jersey City; and three brothers, Willie Baldwin of Statesboro, Abraham McCormick and Isaac McCormick Jr., both of Jersey City.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bethel AME Church in Statesboro, with burial in the Eastside Cemetery. Payton's Mortuary of Statesboro is in charge.
