Her gravestone is incorrect. Her maiden name is Akes. She was born the daughter of Peter Akes and Susannah Harris on Feb 10, 1830 in Carlinville, Macoupin County, Illinois. I think "Hamblin" was added so that her Hamblin descendants could find her final resting place. She is one of my great grandmothers.

She married Henry Hamblin on January 01, 1849 in Keokuk Co. IA. They divorced in September 1872. They are first found in the 1850 Federal census living in Keokuk County, Iowa.

Mother of three boys and three girls: Mary Ellen Hamblin Dollars b 1851; Alfred H.Hamblin b 1856; Emily Elizabeth Hamblin Snead b. 1859; Samuel B. Hamblen b. 1861; Priscilla Anna Hamblin Davis b. 1864; and John Granville Hamblen b. 1872.
