Thomas, age 25, was accepted in to the Sons of the American Revolution May 16, 1896, based on his lineage to Isaac Wilson, Sergeant in the 2nd Virginia State Regiment under Captain Augustine Tabb's Company, and commanded by Colonel William Brent, formerly commanded by Colonel Gregory Smith, Revolutionary War. Isaac enlisted for three years, serving from March, 1778 to November 1779.
