The Belz brothers Paul and Leslie were killed when the small single-engine aircraft (a Piper Commanche) in which they were passengers crashed and exploded in a cornfield about two miles from Randolph, OH. The pilot and a third passenger also were killed. The aircraft had departed Buffalo, NY and was in the vicinity of Randolph, OH, in contact with the control tower of the Akron-Canton Regional airport when it crashed. Factors that may have conributed to the crash were a failure of the craft's navigational equipment and bad weather (dense fog.)

Translation of the Hebrew inscription:
"Here lies my dear husband, our dear father, our dear son, and my dear brother, reb [Mr.] Pinchas son of reb [Mr.] Shraga Feivel. Died 19 Marcheshvan [5]724 [5/6 Nov 1963.] May his soul be bound up in the bond of everlasting life."
Note that "reb" is an honorific title of respect, like "mister"; it does not mean "rabbi." Also, the inscribed Hebrew year is 724, with the millennial year 5000 implied. Finally, Hebrew days begin at sunset; thus the 19th day of the month of Marcheshvan 5724 actually began at sunset on 5 Nov and ended at sunset on 6 Nov. Of course, the actual secular day of death is known from other sources to be 6 Nov.
