From Judy Annis: "Mrs. Lawrence M. Edwards of Savannah, GA sent a correction to Huxford's Pioneers of Wiregrass GA, printed in Vol. 6, p. 334, stating that an unrecorded marriage license had been found in the Ordinary's Office. The License was dated March 18 1836 [1816?] Bulloch, GA for Solomon Futch and Sarah Davis. The license was recorded on 25 February 1967 in Marriage Book 2-A, p. 16." Their marriage license was not officially recorded for more than 150 years after their marriage!
Thanks so much to the late Joy Blankenship and all the Futch family genealogists for much of this information and especially to John Wise and Alfred Chassereau. Any errors, however, are mine alone. Please go to the "edit" link on this site with any corrections or additions. If a closer relative than I would like to manage this burial site, please let me know.
