BETTENDORF - Florence Olga Schultz Grace, 89, Bettendorf, died at Bettendorf Health Care Center, Bettendorf, Friday, February 8, 2008. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park.
Florence was born in 1918 in Walcott, Iowa, to Olga and Ernst Boecken. She married Dr. Charles Schultz in 1942 in Lancaster, Mo. He died in 1969. She married Lloyd L. Grace in Davenport in 1977. He died in 1978.
Florence was employed as a secretary, one of only two women in the comptroller's office for the state of Iowa, a teller for the Davenport Bank, in clerical work for Eagle Foods, as well as assisting her husband in the early years of his medical practice.
She was an active community volunteer in the former Mercy Hospital and Davenport Osteopathic Hospital Auxiliaries and a member of Davenport Club, Elks and Gyro. A loving mother, she always had time to enjoy her family's activities and was known as a great cook.
Survivors include her two sons and two daughters, Sandra Schultz and Dr. Craig Schultz of Davenport, Rhea Schultz of Madison, Wis., and Daniel Schultz of Oakland Park, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Schultz.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands and one brother, Clarence Boecken.
