She died Feb. 28, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, after a short illness.
Born July 25, 1923, in Ogden, Utah, she was the daughter of George and Mattie (Whittaker) Baxter; attended schools in Reliance; and graduated from Reliance High School in 1941.
She then went to Warm Springs, Ga., and spent three years at the polio clinic there; undergoing ankle surgery and having the opportunity to have Christmas dinner with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
During World War II, she was a fingerprinter at Hill Field, near Ogden.
On Sept. 11, 1947, she married Ronald McMillan.
Employed as a clerk at Sears, she retired after 15 years of service.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, several local women's clubs, the Eagles Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars; and enjoyed spending summers in Pinedale with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years and son, Dennis McMillan, and his companion of Rock Springs; and a brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Louis.
