Watertown Public Opinion, May 10, 1921:
"James Faragher Dies Here at 89. Was Miner Before Retiring Here in 1896. Funeral at Residence Tomorrow. James Faragher, for years interested in the mining business and later in farming interests in Minnesota and this state, died at a hospital in Watertown yesterday noon at the age of 89 years, following a long illness. He has lived in Watertown since 1896 when he and his wife came to join their two sons and daughter here, Charles, John and Mrs. Douglas Brown."

"Mr. Faragher was born April 8, 1832 in St. Johns, Isle of Man, and when he was 25 years old came to America. He had learned the tailoring trade in the Isle of Man, but abandoned this and became interested in mining in this country. Later, he bought a lead mine while living in Dodgeville, WI. This he sold and went to Idaho City where he became interested in a gold mine. He remained there five years, and in 1888, moved to southern Minnesota, residing there until his removal to Watertown. Although the owner of several farms in this part of the state, Mr. Faragher has been retired since coming to this city."

"He is survived by his wife and five children: Albert Faragher of Adrian, Minn, Mrs. Douglas Brown, Charles and John Faragher of Watertown, and George Faragher of Goodwin, a brother and sister living in the Isle of Man at Peel, and one brother at Adrian, Minn. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock from the Faragher residence at 916 Second Street, NW. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery."
